Real talk: if you’ve ever felt like your Xbox profile was missing that top-tier flex that PlayStation users have enjoyed for years, the wait is over. Microsoft is officially dropping "Mythic Achievements," which act almost exactly like Sony’s iconic Platinum trophies.
How it works
Once you snag every single achievement for a specific game, you’ll unlock Mythic status. The best part? You don’t have to start from scratch. Microsoft says they’ve already retroactively applied these to games you’ve already 100% completed, even going all the way back to the Xbox 360 days. Checking your profile might show some pleasant surprises if you’re a long-time completionist.
To make tracking less of a headache, the team is adding a new progress bar at the top of game lists. It’ll show you exactly how close you are to that Mythic milestone and help you filter for the specific achievements you’re missing. The update also features a dedicated gaming tab to keep your Gamerscore and Mythic stats front and center. The feature is currently live for Xbox Insiders to stress-test before a wider release.

This move comes shortly after Xbox CEO Asha Sharma confirmed the company was working on a Platinum-equivalent feature, making it official after some leaked audio of the unique unlock sound hit the web last week. It’s a massive W for players who love to grind for that 100% completion badge—it essentially gives your gaming history a much-needed glow-up.
