Hsin-Ju Chuang, a prominent figure in the crypto space, has died at the age of 37. Her death was confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner following an incident on August 24. According to authorities, Chuang was pronounced dead at the scene after California Highway Patrol officers responded to an incident on Interstate 15.
At this time, officials have not released a cause of death. The situation remains under investigation, and authorities have not provided further details regarding the circumstances of the event.
A career in innovation
Chuang was a well-known name in the tech and blockchain sectors. She was the founder of Dystopia Labs and held significant leadership roles at major industry players, including Stellar and Solana, where she served as head of growth. In 2021, she joined the venture capital firm Hack VC, later stepping into the role of partner and head of platform in 2025.
Alexander Pack, co-founder and managing partner at Hack VC, expressed that the firm was “shocked and saddened” by the news. Pack noted that the company had not been in contact with Chuang for over ten months and stated, “We have no further information, and only wish to ask everyone to be respectful of those who are grieving.”
Prior to her passing, Chuang had publicly raised allegations regarding her treatment at Hack VC, mentioning plans to share evidence related to her time at the firm.
